As a charity we are always on the lookout for new ways to raise funds. More fundraising for us means lower costs for trips, camps and events for you. In the past our fundraising efforts have helped us to:
- Reduce the cost of some Trips/Camps
- Keep the costs of some events the same year on year.
- Purchase new equipment
- Only one increase to our Subs in recent memory.
With that in mind we have an exciting new partnership with “West Norfolk Wins” to tell you about. (We thought we’d take the opportunity to remind you about some of our other fundraising efforts)
West Norfolk Wins.
West Norfolk's brand new online lottery West Norfolk Wins is now live with the first draw set to take place on Saturday, 26 May 2018.
There is a chance of winning up to £25,000 each week. For players who sign up in time for the first draw there is an additional prize of a 50" smart TV kindly sponsored by homes developer Lovell and a sound bar sponsored by Hughes in King's Lynn.
Over twenty good causes have already signed up for the lottery, giving players plenty of choice over which charity or cause they wish to support. A further 15 good causes should be added in the next few weeks.
Set up to support community projects in the local area, the West Norfolk Wins operates on the principle of raising money within the community for the community. We empower local good causes to raise money in a fun and effective way.
In a time of shrinking budgets and increased community need, West Norfolk Wins enables people to support the causes they care most about, helping good causes to connect with their supporters.
A ticket for the West Norfolk Wins costs £1 per week and 60p will go directly to good causes!
The real winners are the good causes. From every £1 ticket sold 60p will go to good causes in west Norfolk! To put this in perspective when you play the National Lottery 28% goes to good causes – we’ve more than DOUBLED the ticket percentage that goes to good causes.
Even better, you can choose which good cause gets 50p of the 60p (the remaining 10p will be distributed to other good causes).
Last year’s BBQ/AGM was a great success and Jon had a great time cooking lots of tasty burgers!

Be Prepaired (Shop).
As leaders, when we talk about uniform and kit, one of the most common things we get asked for is "Where can I get that from?".
So we've tried to bring together some of the essentials of Scouting and put them all in one place, with the aim of helping you to get them sorted just that little bit easier.
Some of the links in our shop are "Amazon affiliate" links, this basically means that anything you purchase via them will raise a little bit of money for the group.
One of the main things you're going to need will be uniform. Uniform consists of a jumper for Beavers and Cubs or a Shirt for Scouts. Everybody will also need a Necker, which you will receive along with your badges, at your investiture.
On special occasions we may ask you to wear “Full Uniform”, the only difference here is that in addition to your jumper and Necker we also want you to wear smart trousers/shorts and shoes (most people wear school uniform trousers/shorts and shoes).
Uniform can be purchased from one of the following sources, ranked by price (low to high as of 2017):
2 By making a trip to the Trading Post in Norwich (or they can deliver for £2.85).
3 Ordering online via shop.scouts.org.uk (£3.99 delivery).
After a few successful years of creating event specific T-Shirts (everybody ordered one!) we have decided to team up with Tesco to get some Group Clothing printed/embroidered! With plenty of items to choose from (most people tend to start with a Cap and or T-Shirt) you will have lots of options for your next Trip/Camp.
Along with Uniform these items can be found on our Clothing Page
Occasionally we leaders will buy something for camps or activities and think you might find it useful. If so we will add it to our Equipment Page.
